Starbucks Green & Herbal Teas

Most people know that Starbucks offers a variety of iced teas, along with chai and matcha lattes. Not everyone knows that they also have a variety of green and herbal teas from Teavana. Their basic green tea is the Emperor’s Cloud and Mist Green Tea, which I will not be reviewing because it is a basic green tea with nothing special about it. I will, however, share my thoughts about their other, more interesting green and herbal teas.

Jade Citrus Mint Tea

The Jade Citrus Mint tea tastes very similar to basic green tea. It does have a hint of citrus, but I didn’t taste any mint. If you like green tea and citrus flavors, you will enjoy this tea. As someone who doesn’t love green tea, I prefer this over the Emperor’s Cloud and Mist tea, but this still isn’t one of my go-to Starbucks drinks.

Mint Majesty Herbal Tea

Unlike Dunkin’s mint tea, this drink has a surprising amount of tea flavor. It is not as tingly or cooling as expected, but I actually prefer that. It is a nice minty tea for calming stomachs or perking you up without caffeine.

Peach Tranquility Herbal Tea

The peach tea has a light, fruity flavor. The first time I drank this tea, I thought it had a typical peach flavor, similar to the old Peach Citrus White Tea, which I really enjoyed. However, the next time I ordered it, I tasted the pineapple and some of the lemon flavors. Despite the changing flavors, this is probably my favorite tea on this list.

Honey Citrus Mint Tea

Originally a secret menu item, this was so popular it’s now on the regular menu. It is a combination of the Jade Citrus Mint tea and the Peach Tranquility Herbal Tea, with steamed lemonade and honey, and is supposed to help a cold or sore throat. I mostly taste the lemonade when i order this, which makes it very sweet, though there is a slight green tea flavor. I have ordered this when I have a sore throat, and would say that it helped.

The secret menu also suggests adding peppermint syrup to this drink to increase the benefits. I think the peppermint overpowers the other flavors, and doesn’t blend well with the lemonade. It did cool my throat though, so whether or not you add it might depend on how much your throat hurts.

Next time you find yourself looking for tea in Starbucks, I highly suggest trying one of these green or herbal teas. With a variety of flavors and benefits, there is a tea for many different preferences.
