REVIEW: New Dunkin' Lemonade Refreshers

Dunkin’ Donuts has been on a roll with new releases lately, and so many of them are iced tea (or at least tea-related) drinks! Their newest one is the Dunkin’ Lemonade Refreshers—the Dunkin’ Refreshers mixed with lemonade. The Dunkin’ Refreshers are made with green tea and come in three flavors. The Lemonade Refreshers are the second variation on the Dunkin’ Refreshers, and along with them Dunkin’ is now selling plain lemonade. With all that information out there, let’s get into how the flavors taste.

Strawberry Lemonade

My first thought is that the Strawberry Lemonade Refresher (made with the Strawberry Dragonfruit Dunkin’ Refresher) looks like Pepto-Bismol. Once I got over that and tried it, it really did taste like strawberry lemonade. The lemonade adds a nice sweet and slightly tart flavor, while there is still a hint of dragonfruit flavor that tastes very candy-like. However, there is a little bit of a strange texture that doesn’t go away after mixing. The aftertaste is also slightly medicinal, though that seems to be common with these Dunkin’ Refreshers.

Peach Lemonade

The Peach Lemonade Refresher still has the strong passionfruit/perfume-like flavor of the Peach Passionfruit Dunkin’ Refresher, with only a hint of lemonade flavor. It is pretty tart and somewhat sweet, but not as much as strawberry. Personally, I prefer this flavor as the Dunkin’ Coconut Refresher, but the Lemonade Refresher is not bad.

Blueberry Lemonade

After trying the other two Dunkin’ Lemonade Refreshers, the Blueberry Lemonade tastes exactly as I expected. It has a good balance of the Blueberry Pomegranate Dunkin’ Refresher and lemonade. Just like the regular and coconut refreshers, this flavor is my favorite of the three. However, I’m not sure that I would get the Lemonade Refresher over the regular one.

So, What’s the Tea?

The Lemonade Refreshers were a nice addition to Dunkin’s menu, but I’m not sure that I’m going to be running out to get them any time soon. I might stop in for a Blueberry Lemonade, but that’s about it for me. However, I am very excited for the Strawberry Popping Bubbles that Dunkin’ is dropping next week, and I will hopefully be trying them in a variety of drinks.
