Dunkin' Iced Teas (plus Flavor Shots)
A few months ago, I posted an article titled Every Tea from Dunkin’ Donuts. Since then, Dunkin’ has released a few new teas, which I would like to review. I would also like to update my previous review to make them more detailed, so I have decided to create a whole section on my blog dedicated to Dunkin’s teas. The first review will be of their iced teas, including the flavor shots you can add to them.
For some reason, you can only add blueberry or raspberry to iced tea using the Dunkin’ Donuts Rewards app. For this reason, I will only be including these two flavors in today’s blog post. I do plan to do another post trying the other flavors, though I will probably only try them in the iced black tea.
Iced Black Tea
I believe some Dunkin’ locations have separate sweet tea and iced tea; the ones by me just have iced black tea that you can get sweetened or not. Sweetened, it does taste like sweet tea—maybe not a traditional southern sweet tea, but very sweet. Unsweetened, it is a little bitter, but not too much. It tastes like most other iced black teas you would get at restaurants, coffee shops, and other locations.
Iced Black Tea with Raspberry Flavor Shot
An unsweetened iced black tea with raspberry is probably my favorite drink from Dunkin’. The raspberry is not very strong but it compliments the iced tea well. The refreshing, fruity flavor is perfect for summer. In the picture above, they gave me two lemons even though I thought I asked for none. The lemon flavor ended up being the stronger flavor, but they may have been a good thing….
Iced Black Tea with Blueberry Flavor Shot
The blueberry flavor shot is very strong and sweet, even though Dunkin’s flavor shots are supposed to be unsweetened. This iced tea tastes a little artificial, like blueberry or blue raspberry candy. This time they did not give me lemon, but I almost wished I had asked for some to help cut the sweetness and add some tart flavor.
Iced Green Tea
If you have read any of my other posts, you probably know that I am not a big fan of green tea. Dunkin’s iced green tea is no exception, however you may like it if you do like green tea. It is very bitter and a little grassy, as many green teas are.
Iced Green Tea with Raspberry Flavor Shot
As much as I don’t like plain green teas, I often like flavored blends. Similarly, I do enjoy Dunkin’s iced green tea with raspberry. I find that raspberry is always a nice compliment to green tea, and this follows the trend. This flavor shot makes the iced tea less bitter and grassy, and a little sweet (though once again, I’m not sure why considering the flavor shots are supposed to be unsweetened). Overall, this is a refreshing and hydrating blend that I will probably order again and would recommend to any iced tea drinker.
I did not try the iced green tea with blueberry because if I was not a fan of the blueberry flavor shot in an iced black tea, there was almost no way I would like it in iced green tea.
Dunkin’s two iced teas are both pretty good, and the flavor shots make them even more refreshing and delicious. I am excited to try some of the other flavor shots and flavor swirls—especially coconut in black tea.
