My Favorite Teas from Sipping Streams Tea Company

This summer, I participated in a workshop from Sipping Streams Tea Company called the 5 Days of Tea Transformational Journey. After (more than) five days of learning everything I ever wanted to know and more about tea, including health benefits of tea, I decided to sign up for their Universi-Tea program. I’m a sucker for a play on words, but what really drew me into this program was the amount of information available to members. I especially enjoy the videos that go along with each of the teas we are sent each month. It has been almost six months of receiving four teas a month from Sipping Streams Tea Company (including rare teas that are only available through the program), so I thought it was about time for a list of my favorites.

Sweet Peach White Tea

I think this was the first tea I tried from Sipping Streams, and I really enjoy it. It makes a delicious and fruity iced tea that is perfect for summer. I do prefer it with sweetener, but I usually forget to add it while the tea is brewing hot, so I often drink it plain and it is still good. I’ve also tried Sweet Peach White Tea hot, and while I do prefer it iced, it is one of the best peach teas to drink hot.

Alaskan Peony Flowers

The Alaskan Peony Flowers were the rare tea in my first Universi-Tea box, and they made a delicious tisane. They had a sweet and (not surprisingly) floral scent that I really enjoyed. I also found it quite relaxing to drink this infusion in the evenings before bed.

Arctic Bliss White Tea Blend

Artic Bliss is a blend of white tea, fireweed, and Alaskan lingonberries. White tea is my favorite, and this one is delicious. The flowers of the fireweed have a nice floral flavor while the lingonberries add a little sweetness. Fireweed and lingonberries are also both high in Vitamin C, so that immune-boost is always a plus.

Assam CTC Black Tea

Black tea is probably my second favorite type of tea. This Assam CTC is a delicious black tea with a strong, slightly malty flavor. It pairs well with honey, and even blended with a bit of the Chicory Root that I also received as part of the Universi-Tea program in the same month.

Organic Earl Grey Black Tea

I’m generally not the biggest fan of Earl Grey tea, but I do really enjoy this one. I highly recommend making it as a London Fog latte with a bit of vanilla for a nice, cozy winter drink.

Lemon Chamomile

Honestly, Lemon Chamomile might be my favorite tea (technically tisane) that I’ve received from Sipping Streams. Unlike most chamomiles, this brews up a beautiful red color. It has the floral flavor and relaxing properties of chamomile, but also the slightly tart flavor and throat soothing properties of lemon. It is perfect for fighting off a cold, especially when you add a little bit of honey.

Butterfly Pea Flowers

Butterfly Pea Flowers are another rare tea that Universi-Tea members recently received. This flowers brew up a beautiful blue color, and then the addition of lemon juice changes the color to purple. In the accompanying video, owner Jenny Tse shared that you can also add kombucha for the same effect—which I am really interested in trying. This is another tisane with a simple, floral flavor that tastes great with honey and can be soothing for a incoming cold, but really the best part of the tea is the color changing fun.

Whole Egyptian Chamomile

This Whole Egyptian Chamomile happened to arrive just as I finished off my Lemon Chamomile, and the timing could not have been better. Though this chamomile is fairly different from the flavored one, I still like the tisane for helping me relax in the evenings. It has the simple floral and slightly sweet flavor typical of chamomile, which I really enjoy.

In total, I have received twenty teas from Sipping Streams Tea Company through the Universi-Tea program. Admittedly, I haven’t gotten around to trying all of them just yet; but, out of the ones I have tried, these eight are definitely my favorite. I highly recommend giving Sipping Streams a try, and looking out for other opportunities to try the rare teas the company doesn’t sell regularly.
