My Favorite (And Least Favorite) Teas from DavidsTea

DavidsTea is my favorite place to buy loose leaf tea. They have so many different flavors, from basics to creative and original combinations, which are sorted by type of tea. They have seasonal flavors, samplers, and even tea bags made with their blends. Over the years, I have tried many different flavors of tea from DavidsTea. Here are my tried and true favorites, as well as some that I don’t like very much.

Favorites

Honeycrisp Apple

This is my all-time favorite tea from DavidsTea. I’m not usually a fan of green tea, but the apples and pears make this infusion sweet and delicious. I don’t even add honey or sweetener when I make Honeycrisp Apple. And while I usually make it hot, it is great iced as well. This tea has Low Caffeine, making it perfect for a slight pick-me up without the jitters.

Blackberry Blizzard

This drink is my favorite iced tea from DavidsTea. Another drink that I don’t need to sweeten, the flavor in this one is attributed mostly to blackberries. It is caffeine-free, so it can be enjoyed at all times of the day.

Blueberry Muffin

Blueberry Muffin holds a special place in my heart because it was the first tea I sampled when DavidsTea first opened in my local mall. Unfortunately, it is retiring soon, but at least that means it is on sale. Perfect with just a bit of honey added, this tea somehow really does taste like a muffin, with hints of blueberry flavor. I highly recommend trying it before it goes away for good.

Sleigh Ride

I know that this is a holiday tea, but I swear my family restocks it every winter. My brothers all-time favorite tea, Sleigh Ride is full of cinnamon and sweetness. It tastes like Christmas in a cup, but I promise you’ll drink it year round. Christmas in July, anyone?

Magic Potion

The first thing you’ll notice about this tea is how cool it is. It will be blue when you first steep it, but mix in some lemon juice and it turns purple. Although DavidsTea advertises Magic Potion around Halloween, the magic of the butterfly pea flowers is available all year. It even tastes great as an iced tea in the summer. It is mildly sweet and tastes like berries, and is delicious with just a touch of honey, and of course lemon juice.

Least Favorites

Hot Chocolate

Hot chocolate tea sounds like a really cool invention- hot chocolate that is high in caffeine! But this doesn’t quite meet expectations. Brewed regularly, it just tastes like chocolate water and is not that sweet. Maybe it is better as a latte, but I have not gotten around to making one and honestly don’t have plans to anytime soon. If you’re craving hot chocolate this winter, it is probably best to just make some.

Coffee Pu’erh

As someone who does not like coffee, I only tried this tea because it came in my Tea Advent Calendar a few years ago. To me, it just tastes like coffee, which defeats the purpose of drinking tea. My mom, a coffee lover, felt that it did taste different from coffee, but that she would rather have regular coffee. Just like the Hot Chocolate tea, this tea is probably better as a latte, but it is just easier to make some coffee.

Buddha’s Blend

I love white tea, and this tea smells amazing, but for some reason, it doesn’t taste all that great to me. Unlike the other two on this list, I can add a decent amount of honey and be fine drinking Buddha’s Blend. But I still would prefer so many other teas on this list and beyond, which is why mine has been sitting in my pantry for quite some time. I should note that not everyone agrees with me: a friend of mine recently tried this among some of her first DavidsTea flavors and loved it. Maybe you will too, but I personally do not.

I hope this guide helped you decide which teas to try and which to skip at DavidsTea, whether you are new to the world of loose leaf tea or just looking for some new flavors. Do you have a favorite tea that I didn’t mention? Leave a comment down below!
